Jessica went to her first ultrasound this past Thursday. Everything looked great but the baby did measure to be two weeks earlier than what we thought. So now, Jessica is due on December 15, 2014. The baby's heartbeat was 115. Most people would say that due to the heartbeat than the baby would be a boy. But you never know. Here is a picture of our first grandbaby.

Easter 2014
Today was Easter. At about 2pm we were at Damon and April's house to share the Easter spirit with their kids. It was also Damon's 41st birthday. We had fun with the kids and we celebrated and made fun of Damon getting older. April did a great job in planning and combining the meaning of Easter and Damon's bday. April made a resurrection cake and a bunny rabbit cake. They looked delicious but we were all too stuff to eat and we are not much of cake eaters in our house. Travis is a huge chocolate eater but he didn't want to be the only one to eat cake...haha poor guy.
Jessica and Travis went to church and then they joined in the celebration. Shane and Damon got out the kites and helped the kids fly them. Of course, at one time, the kite went into the only tree in the yard.
It was a wonderful day. When we got home, I took some pictures of Ava in her Easter dress.
I love this little girl...she is just adorable.

What is my Potential
Two weeks ago, our daughter, Jessica, and her husband, Travis, came over to our house and sat us down and announced they were having a baby. Of course, we were excited. Actually, we were way beyond excited. She is due December 1st, 2014.
Some may wonder why blog is titled Reaching Our Potential. At one point in my life I would sometimes use that phrase to tell my sisters that they were more than what they were; to not settle for less than what they truly wanted, and to strive for what there potential was. I always thought that I knew what my potential was. But, as I got older, I realized that our potential changes as we enter different changes in our lives. I think we all should be either striving for something to better ourselves or reaching for our possible potential.
I strived to be a good mother in my 20s, achieve a college education in my 30s, and now in my 40s, I strive to work hard in my career and prepare for my retirement. But, I have also realized that I have the potential to be a better grandmother than I was a mother. I made many mistakes as a mother and I am sure I am not done doing so. Through most of my mistakes i have learned from and that is why I feel I can be a better grandmother than mother.
We can all have many potentials that we can try to achieve. Somebody might say that I am just making goals. I call it potentials because these are things that if i work at it makes me a better person.
I hope and am excited to see if I can reach my potential as a grandmother.

Family
When we are home from work, we spend almost all our time with our children and family. We adore our two children, Jessica (20) & her husband Travis (25) and Aaron (18) and Aaron's best friend (who is like another son) Jacob (18).
We absolutely love getting with them and sitting down at a big dinner and then watching something together.
Today, we went to the zoo and took our nieces Destinee (11) & Katlynn (5), and our nephew Logan (10). We also took jessica, travis, and jacob.
Wow, what a fun full day we had. We got season passes fro next time we go. We pretty much got the kids for whatever they asked for: cotton candy, pizza, shopping at the gift store, spending the night with us and having icecream, staying up late and playing video games.
Katelynn enjoying herself while feeding the canaries.
Destinee and Logan showing their love for the goat.
Destinee, Katelynn, and Logan taking a break in a giant nest.
Jessica and Travis Wright fooling around at the zoo
Our sweet Jacob
enjoying his day
